The Berwyn Veterans Memorial Committee is planning a Veterans Memorial to be erected at the pedestrian bridge in the center of town. It is our hope that, in time, the monument will be a focal point for Berwyn to serve as a reminder of the service our local veterans have played in keeping our country free. Our community has been touched by every war and an appropriate remembrance of the sacrifices of so many is in order.

The Committee will again sponsor a 5K “Berwyn Victory Run”. The race is scheduled for June 11, 2005. Our hope is to raise funds for the project while providing the town with an opportunity to heighten our sense of community. Last year's race was an enormous success and proved to be an enjoyable event for everyone involved.

Mr. Lyman Perry and Mr. Mathew T. Moger of Lyman S.A. Perry Architect, LTD have designed the monument at no cost to the community. We are seeking financial support from area businesses to erect the monument. There are many ways to assist the committee - we need sponsors, prizes for the runners, volunteers and participants in the run
